mselect is looking to hire a Sales Manager for a logistics client in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have 8–10 years of relevant sales experience, preferably within the logistics industry. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the country manager, the Sales Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the inside sales department and the lead generation process. Major duties include providing management communications to the sales department, training & coaching sales executives, monitoring & reporting on sales metrics, and managing the sales administration process. The sales manager's main duty is to understand and develop the assigned sales plan to maximise and grow revenue and profit by planning, managing, supervising and evaluating the performance of the sales department, its resources and stakeholders. The Sales Manager is responsible for expanding market share by promoting the company’s air, ocean, and land freight solutions, with a focus on 4PL and contract logistics services. The role identifies, develops, and converts new business opportunities while driving sustainable revenue growth and strengthening the company’s competitive position in the local market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Builds a solid inside sales/lead generation team that exceeds sales goals
  • Ensures that the sales pipeline remains full of qualified leads and prospects
  • Develops the sales strategy and plans related activities for the sales team by setting targets and monitoring progress towards monthly targets
  • Conducts market identification analysis every quarter to research and update the status of maintained customers and find new leads and potential projects to facilitate business growth, for both Jordan and the global network
  • Conducts quarterly business reviews with clients
  • Conducts sales calls regularly to achieve sales volume and revenue targets and develop the Iraqi customer base
  • Monitor sales executive productivity and motivate the team to reach daily goals
  • Serves as the main point of contact for Sales activities carried out in Iraq, to grow local market share and communicate market feedback regularly to the direct manager and the regional office
  • Manages and develops the relationships with clients, stakeholders and third parties
  • Organise regular ‘sales discussions’ and/or internal training sessions to engage with the local team
  • Reviews sales performance to accelerate team efforts and reach budget targets
  • Leads and motivates the sales team to perform at their best to achieve set sales targets and KPI’s
  • Checks teams’ work continuously to give constructive feedback on their performance
  • Reports sales activities as required by management
  • Manages team conflicts to make sure that the flow of tasks complies with set policies and procedures
  • Coordinates with the head office to develop the annual sales plan, budget and reports
  • Develops management reports accurately, completely and timely
  • Periodically reviews procedures and processes to evaluate team compliance and perform any amendments with the management team
  • Update customer relationship management (CRM) software and prepare/submit all required reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve business processes and operational procedures to enhance efficiency and performance

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in business/marketing, logistics and/or supply chain management, or equivalent degree
  • Minimum 8–10+ years of sales experience, preferably within the logistics industry
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Good business acumen, initiative, and enthusiasm
  • Solid functional knowledge and experience in sea and air freight operations, including both import and export services
  • Problem-solving, coaching, mentoring, leadership and management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  • Ability to meet and establish deadlines
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
