Projects Performance and Reporting Analyst

mselect is looking to hire a Projects Performance And Reporting Analyst for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in performance reporting, business intelligence or business analysis within major project/portfolio environments, preferably oil & gas. Fluency in English is a must.

Job Purpose
To establish and maintain a fit-for-purpose, integrated portfolio, programme and project performance reporting capability, leveraging enterprise systems and digital platforms, to support timely, data-driven decision-making by project services and directorate management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, maintain and continuously improve project and portfolio performance reports and dashboards aligned with corporate and directorate requirements
  • Act as the business focal point for project and portfolio performance reporting systems, ensuring alignment with SAP S/4HANA (PS/EPPM) and enterprise reporting platforms
  • Translate business reporting and performance requirements into functional systems and data models, working closely with ICT and system owners
  • Develop and manage business intelligence dashboards, analytics and trend reports to provide actionable insights on cost, schedule, progress, risks and performance
  • Coordinate, consolidate and synthesise inputs from project teams, planning, cost & budget and SMEs to produce concise, executive-level management reports and presentations
  • Support portfolio?level visibility, cross?project analysis and management oversight by identifying trends, deviations, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Identify opportunities for automation and digitalisation of reporting and performance management processes; prepare business cases and detailed functional requirements; and support benefits realisation
  • Analyse process and system performance data to identify opportunities for efficiency, standardisation and continuous improvement
  • Engage effectively with internal stakeholders (projects, planning, cost, ICT) to ensure data quality, reporting consistency and alignment

Decision-Making Authority
  • Operates within established corporate policies and departmental procedures
  • Exercises professional judgement in analysing information, resolving inconsistencies, and presenting performance insights
  • Works independently with periodic review by the head, processes, systems & support

Context/Special Features/Challenges
  • High level of interaction with multidisciplinary stakeholders across the directorate
  • Requires interpretation of complex technical, engineering and commercial data
  • Tight reporting timelines with high expectations for accuracy, clarity and consistency
  • Strong dependency on enterprise system integration and data governance

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in performance reporting, business intelligence or business analysis within major project/portfolio environments, preferably oil & gas
  • Strong understanding of project and portfolio management principles
  • Proven experience with ERP and project systems, ideally SAP S/4HANA (PS/EPPM)
  • Strong analytical, problem?solving and data interpretation skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and business intelligence tools
