MSELECT is looking to hire a Projects Analyst for a consultancy client in Erbil, candidates must have at least 2-4 years of experience in the same role, fluency in English and Kurdish is a must.

Key responsibilities
  • The Analyst will be integral to the special projects team of the (“Special Projects Team”), and the key role of the Analyst will be to drive the development and implementation of any special project spearheaded by the owner or CEO of the client (a “Special Projects”), alongside relevant stakeholders and external consultants.
  • The Analyst will act as a project manager for the Special Projects Team / PMO; and, in so doing, will keep the Special Projects Team / client will apprised as to the status of key project deliverables, and ultimately work to ensure that any Special Projects Team / client office / government deliverables are delivered when required.
  • The Analyst will, for any given Special Project, gather views of relevant stakeholders within the office; and will then draft position papers reflecting the ambition of the CEO for the given project, to be used as a reference tool by all project stakeholders. 
  • The Analyst will act as a point of liaison for external consultants, and will assist such consultants in gathering documentation and data locally, with a view to providing visibility as to “on the ground” realities.
  • The Analyst will assist the Special Projects Team and its external consultants in assessing and analysing data (namely by reference to local considerations and realities) and will assist in drafting related reports.
  • The Analyst will, for any given special project, map out the universe of key stakeholders (governmental or otherwise), and produce summary reports for the benefit of the Special Projects Team and its external consultants. 
  • The Analyst will seek to foster relationships with any key stakeholders whose buy-in is viewed as critical to drive the successful implementation of a given Special Project. 
  • The Analyst will seek to facilitate interviews with key stakeholders, wherever the Special Projects Team and/or its external consultants believe that direct engagement with any such stakeholders is warranted. 
  • The Analyst will act as a “cultural bridge” between external consultants and key stakeholders to facilitate understanding and create common ground. 
  • The Analyst will attend and participate in professional meetings with external advisors and key stakeholders.
  • The Analyst will help the company management and the Special Projects Team to assess and analyse work product from external consultants or otherwise, in order to put the Special Projects Team in a position to formulate positions, and keep driving the development and implementation of any Special Project.

Desired Credentials / Expertise:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with an element of either (or a combination) of the following:
  • Business/management and/or accounting.
  • Political science and/or international relations.
  • Engineering, chemistry, biology.
  • Some experience in either a procurement, supply chain or project management-type role is helpful, but more important is the readiness to hit the ground running, the desire to learn and an interest in project-related work.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mind with a focus on problem solving whilst also being sensitive to competing objectives and stakeholders.
  • Desire to develop leadership capabilities and readiness in a fast-paced environment.
  • Some understanding of the challenges facing the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in terms of international trade.
  • Some knowledge of EU or GCC trade policies helpful.
  • Strong IT literacy skills with experience of using the main Microsoft tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
