Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Project Manager to lead and deliver complex defense programs for a prestigious defense conglomerate in Doha, Qatar. Reporting to the Program Director, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of defense projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while aligning with local defense objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle for defense programs, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closeout
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers in line with defense industry standards
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, commercial, legal, and supply chain teams, to ensure seamless project delivery
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client counterparts, including government and military stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and expectation management
- Monitor project performance against key milestones and KPIs, implementing corrective actions as needed to stay on track
- Ensure compliance with local defense procurement regulations, In-Country Value (ICV) requirements, and offset obligations
- Prepare and present regular progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to senior leadership and clients
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively to avoid delays or cost overruns
- Support contract management activities, including variations, claims, and handover documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is highly preferred
- Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in project management, with a strong track record in the defense industry
- Demonstrated experience managing government, military, or semi-government defense projects is essential
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills in English. Native Arabic language proficiency is an advantage
- Solid understanding of defense program management methodologies, risk management, and compliance frameworks
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in the Middle East or Qatar is a plus
