This rotational role within the Reservoir Management Team (RMT) in Iraq provides high-quality geological support to develop robust static reservoir models, supporting reservoir management, field development, and appraisal activities. The role contributes to optimising reservoir performance and achieving short- and long-term production targets. The position requires close collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to integrate and interpret reservoir data, including static models, dynamic surveillance, and production data, to deliver technical recommendations, support business decisions, and identify value-adding well and field development opportunities. The role also involves effectively communicating subsurface uncertainties, risks, and opportunities, with a clear understanding of their impact on overall business performance.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support New Well Delivery (NWD) and Well work wedges through integration of surveillance and reservoir performance
  • Identify new well targets and well work options; build and maintain target hoppers; support planning, execution and post-activity reviews
  • Acts as a coach and mentor to develop the skills of more junior staff
  • Continuously review and integrate new surveillance data and well performance to underpin an integrated view of sweep and remaining hydrocarbons
  • Seeks to unlock new opportunities and reduce uncertainty and risk through tangible, actionable, and measurable studies and surveillance
  • Cross-disciplinary integration of data (static reservoir description, dynamic surveillance and production data) – from field start-up to end of production
  • Describe and communicate key subsurface uncertainty, risks and opportunities to other disciplines in a way that makes them clear and easy to understand
  • Perform technical reservoir studies to deepen our subsurface understanding of the field
  • Single point of accountability (SPA) for reservoir management processes, including (1) being Responsible for providing individual technical contribution and delivery of work, while also leading a team to meet more expansive objectives; (2) Ensuring their team understands and follows the approved process; (3) Providing feedback for efficiency improvements or issues with current process; (4) Improving existing processes and Creation/delivery of new workflow processes under the guidance of Senior reservoir management team members; (5) Provide technical support to other teams when required through deep integration
  • Personal technical work delivery with an ability to work independently and deliver high-quality subsurface outputs under time constraints

Leadership and Project Management Experience
  • Experience working in and coordinating multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
  • Project management experience, ensuring actions are appropriately captured and tracked by their team, and that their team understand their priorities and meets their deadlines

  • 7+ years of experience in production geology working within a multi-disciplinary subsurface team focused on reservoir management activities
  • Experience in both clastic and carbonate reservoir systems
  • An in-depth understanding of key reservoir management processes and how they impact the wider business & risk management processes
  • High proficiency with Petrel or similar petrotechnical applications for risk assessment, volume calculations and rate estimations
  • Knowledge of open and cased hole petrophysical data acquisition, analysis, core-log integration in clastic and carbonate reservoirs, and the integration of resulting products
  • Knowledge of dynamic data, its collection and interpretation, and how it is integrated into the subsurface description
  • Experience with well planning and wellsite exposure, including experience with Horizontal wells, completions, and stimulations
