Job Summary
A fast-growing MedTech company is seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations Engineer to work closely with the COO in managing and improving day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role combining supply chain coordination, procurement, and manufacturing oversight with process and systems improvement. The successful candidate will help ensure operations run smoothly while progressively building better systems and processes as the company scales. The candidate will be expected to coordinate with internal teams (Operations, QA/Regulatory, Technical and Leadership) and leverage appropriate domain specialists to ensure all quality, regulatory and documentation requirements related to the outsourced manufacturing process are fulfilled and integrated into the company's operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing and Supplier Coordination:
- Act as the primary day-to-day contact with our contract manufacturer
- Track production schedules, delays, and risks
- Early detection, escalation and resolution of manufacturing challenges
- Maintain strong, professional supplier relationships
- Maintain rolling demand and production planning visibility
- Raise and track purchase orders with suppliers
- Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory levels
- Prevent stock-outs and excess inventory through proactive planning
- Take ownership of repeatable operational tasks from the COO
- Ensure smooth coordination across operations, QA, finance and commercial teams
- Provide clear weekly updates on supply, risks and priorities
- Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and processes
- Help build and improve simple, scalable systems
- Increase visibility across stock, orders and production
- Collect and organise batch records and manufacturing documentation
- Track deviations, complaints, and corrective actions with suppliers
- Support audit readiness and traceability requirements in a regulated environment
Requirements
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, operations, medical devices, process improvement, or systems thinking is an advantage
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proactive and confident in coordinating and following up with suppliers
- Strong interest in process and systems improvement
- Calm under pressure with a solution-orientated approach
- Clear and effective communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
