mselect is looking to hire a Lifting and Hoist Supervisor for an international oil & gas operator in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of large construction site experiences related to project scope (petrochemical/ oil/ gas/ chemical/ industrial). English and Arabic fluency is a must.
JOB OBJECTIVE
To carry out lifting and hoisting discipline work of projects, supporting the projects for field development of facilities. To plan, organize, and control a Lifting and Hoist of the construction for the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and review the Lifting and Hoist procedure and standard for the project
- Coaching/training for lifting and hoisting safely company employees and contractors
- Run the lifting and hoisting procedure and move into the site supervisor role completing ongoing inspection and verification
- Perform risk assessment of lifting and hoist in projects
- Develop and review the method statement of lifting and hoisting
- Review contractor’s lifting equipment and person’s certification
- Assess and check the contractor’s lifting equipment and person`s abilities
- Site supervising for all the contractor’s lifting activities including site TBT
- Review and approve the lifting plan
- Reviewing the lifting method statement submitted by contractors
- Ability to lead/make safety audit and provide ideas for improvement
- Other tasks assigned by the leader
- Responsible for coordinating with contractors as well as the contract holder
- Responsible for ensuring safe work practices are followed by contractors reporting to line manager according to the laid out HSSE procedures
- Responsible for raising material requisitions as applicable
- Responsible for planning activities in the area of working of the team of Construction
- Assist with any other appropriate duties and responsibilities as and when required
- Ensure that the safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to as far as reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment
- Perform all assigned tasks to the highest professional standards with due professional diligence and care
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical qualification/ certification in discipline and lifting and hoist recognition certification
- Proven managerial skills
- Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills
- Focus on continuous self-learning and Team Improvement
- Good Technical Knowledge
- Ability to impart training
- Demonstrable experience in the ability to prepare meaningful reports
- Understanding the lifting operation Skills
- Understand the global procedure of safe lifting practices and code
- English – Excellent (Spoken & Written)
Experience:
- Mechanical background with bachelor’s degree
- 5 years minimum work large construction site experiences related to project scope (petrochemical/ oil/ gas/ chemical/ industrial)
- Experience in working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Computer Skills:
- MS Office: Excel, Word and Power point – Advanced
- Any other software as may be available from time to time
