mselect is looking to hire an HR Coordinator/Generalist for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have at least 5 years of professional experience in human resources management within the oil & gas industry, preferably with major operators in Iraq. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Role Synopsis
The HR coordinator/generalist supports the HR leadership team in field operations by assisting with recruitment activities, personnel information management, HR policies and procedures, talent reviews, and succession planning. The role also contributes to the implementation of the annual HR operating plan, facilitates team meetings, and follows up on agreed actions to ensure effective execution.

Key Accountabilities

Policy and Procedure Management:
Assists in the development, implementation, and updating of HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and requirements.
Recruitment and Selection:
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team, hiring managers, and the Contingent Labour team to ensure efficient and effective hiring processes
HR Data Management:
  • Maintain and update the HR Information System, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Generate and analyse HR reports using Power BI and Excel to support management decision-making
  • Any other HR-related tasks the HR leadership may request the HR coordinator/generalist to be involved in

Requirements
  • University-level education, preferably in HR/business administration or a technical discipline related to the oil & gas industry
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in human resources management in the oil & gas industry (main operators in Iraq)
  • Excellent level of English, written and spoken
  • Excellent MS Office skills and experience (e.g., Word, Outlook, email, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced level of MS Excel (e.g., PivotTable, charts, Power BI)
  • Demonstrate teamwork spirit
  • Ability to work effectively with a multi-skilled and multi-cultural team
  • Ability to collaborate with both internal and external parties
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and synthesise complex information and shape intervention options for management consideration

5 days on/2 days off
