Job Summary
The Head of Facilities Management (FM) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of integrated facilities management services across a diverse portfolio of clients and assets. This role ensures the effective delivery of hard and soft FM services, contract performance, operational excellence, financial management, and compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards. The position drives innovation, client satisfaction, business growth, and continuous improvement while managing large-scale FM operations and high-value contracts.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the organisation's FM strategy aligned with business objectives and client requirements
- Lead and manage integrated facilities management operations across multiple sectors, ensuring service excellence and operational efficiency
- Drive innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability initiatives within FM operations
- Establish performance metrics and governance frameworks to monitor operational effectiveness
- Oversee the delivery of hard and soft FM services
- Ensure seamless mobilisation and transition of new contracts and projects
- Monitor service performance, compliance, and operational excellence across all sites
- Lead cross-functional teams to achieve contractual KPIs and SLAs
- Manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of FM contracts
- Drive cost-control initiatives while maintaining service quality and compliance standards
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and margin improvement
- Review and approve expenditures, procurement strategies, and resource allocation plans
- Lead commercial negotiations, contract renewals, and service agreements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and service partners
- Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled, and risks are effectively managed
- Support business development activities, including bids, proposals, and client presentations
- Direct FM project delivery, transition planning, and contract mobilisation activities
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards
- Coordinate resources, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
- Promote a strong safety culture across all operational sites
- Ensure full compliance with QHSE regulations, industry standards, and company policies
- Lead audits, risk assessments, corrective actions, and continuous improvement programmes
- Monitor environmental sustainability and energy management initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and develop FM managers and operational teams
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement
- Support succession planning, talent development, and workforce engagement initiatives
Requirements
Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a Related Field
- Professional certifications in Facilities Management and Project Management are preferred
- A master's degree is an advantage
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Facilities Management with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven experience managing large-scale integrated FM portfolios and multi-site operations
- Demonstrated success overseeing high-value contracts
- Experience in project mobilisation, contract negotiations, client relationship management, and operational transformation
- Extensive knowledge of integrated facilities management, contract administration, asset management, project mobilisation, and QHSE compliance
- Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in budget management, cost optimisation, and contract negotiations
- Ability to lead large-scale FM portfolios and multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic environment
- Proficient in CAFM systems, performance analytics, and operational reporting
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement programmes
