Job purpose
The Geomatics (GIS) Supervisorโs overall responsibility is to provide and coordinate representation of ERW Clearance operational activities by utilizing the national GIS database
Provide functional GIS support to all management in the implementation of ERW Clearance requirements for the field
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Site GIS Supervisor:
- Establish a statistics database, supported by a GIS facility
- Prepare all operational activities onto GIS format as directed by the PM
- Process all information submitted by ERW supervisor, BAC teams and survey teams
- Compile periodical reports on operational statistics as requested by the PM
- Create maps on ops activities by using GIS comprising of overview maps, detailed maps, enhanced task maps, task sketches
- Update the GIS and other reporting databases on a daily basis
- Conduct Quality Assurance checks on operations reported data
- Prepare maps for operational staff
- Prepare maps for the operations room that will give a clear picture of operations activities
- Assist the PM/Supervisors in any administrative tasks in the Operations Room
- Prepare other mapping as requested by the PM
- Assist Site Supervisors, Team Leaders and MRE Team Leaders in IM related administrative tasks
- Any other duties as directed by Project Manager
- Guide and manage GIS / ERW & QA/QC Contractors in site requirements
- Providing input into the development of the ERW clearance strategy, to ensure that it considers holistic ERW needs in line with the Majnoon operational risk profile
- Provide daily, weekly & monthly progress reports on technical and operational matters
- Support the necessary client and contractor relations to ensure an efficient working environment is maintained
- Be an ambassador for the Contract by visible and consistent interventions and leadership
- Liaise with Technical Disciplines to ensure relevant requirements are clearly understood and acted upon by operational and project personnel
- Undertake other duties as required by top management in the interests of ERW success
Qualification:
- University Degree or College graduate or equivalent in the relevant field work (Military or Commercial)
- Advanced GIS Certification
- Drivers License
Experience:
- 3+ Yearsโ Relevant experience in IED / ERW / EOD mapping & target identification on GIS Software
- Knowledgeable in IMAS Standards
- Experienced in Contractor Management
- Experience in projects and operations
- Efficient and effective planning and project management skills
Language proficiency and software skills:
- Advanced in GIS Software
- Advanced MS Office capability
- English proficiency (verbal & written)
Skills:
- Proven report development skills
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cohesively and communicate successfully in multi-cultural teams whilst being aware of and sensitive to cultural differences
