mselect is looking to hire a Finance Director for a facilities management company in Muscat, Oman. Candidates must have 7–10 years of experience in a finance environment, including at least 3–4 years in a similar role, with proven international experience required.
Job Summary
The Finance Director is responsible for leading the finance function and supporting the financial requirements of a quality-of-life services organisation operating across Oman. The role provides financial oversight and support across a diverse client base, primarily within the Government and public sector, Energy and Resources, and University sectors, ensuring effective financial management and business support.
Key Responsibilities
Overview and Key Challenges:
Work closely with country management to achieve objectives & strategic ambitions
Stay alert on all new laws, decrees, and changes in social, financial & tax legislation, and provide proper advice & guidelines to reduce their impact on the company's business strategies & planning
Build strong relationships with the team & suppliers/clients to improve results and LGO
Implementation and follow-up of group financial policies and procedures as well as Internal control procedures and monitoring of tax and legal matters (including legal structures)
Main Activities and Duties:
Control of reporting and accounting under the company’s standards (BS, PL, CF, accruals, prepayment, reconciliation of accounts, etc)
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting under IFRS as per the group requirement
Direct and participate in detailed reports providing qualitative and quantitative information regarding the performance of the business entity and propose corrective action plans
Direct quantitative budgeting in coordination with the country manager and zone team
Support operational management and head office in implementing business process optimisation, administration, and control
Enhance Internal control systems, including site audits, and drive group initiatives on ethics and compliance
Promote the internal training of its subordinates to improve their capabilities and skills in coordination with HRD
Establish all procedures to mitigate the risks (in line with CLC & PLC guidelines) about the company activities
Plan and coordinate the year-end financial audit with external auditors
Support operational & functional teams in their day-to-day activities by providing all necessary analysis and reports to enhance the control and streamline work processes
Provide aid to the commercial department in the evaluation of tenders in terms of legal, tax and finance risks
Assist in the costing and legal review of client contracts and ensure compliance in line with group requirements
Control of tax reporting and submission to TA under the local country’s law (tax returns, quarterly reports, monthly reports)
Compliance with local laws in all aspects of tax and finance
Direct and participate in management studies, and prepare presentations to the management team and the zone managers as needed (variance cost and sales analysis, comparison with budget, forecast, cost saving, Capex, KPI, money request form)
Tax management focusing on optimisation of tax returns
Manage relationships with banks
Support and play a role in enhancing the I.T. profile of the entity, including influencing the I.T. Manager to implement group tools, wherever possible
Manage an accounting team of 4 persons, located at Muscat, and manage relationships with the shared service centre

Requirements
Qualifications:
Holder of a Degree in Finance or Accountancy, preferably equivalent to CMA or Chartered Accountant or ICWAI
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Finance, including 3–4 years in a similar role, with proven international experience required
Experience in catering & facility management services is a plus
Highly developed in operations and financial skills
Autonomous, with good leadership and management skills
Fluency in English and Arabic is a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, MS Outlook, MS Access, Outlook Web Access
Ability to travel to remote sites/projects within the country
Interest in operational activities
