mselect is looking to hire a Field NDT Inspector for an international oil and gas operator in Duhok. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in oil and gas production, plant construction, or other specialist inspection activity, and be fluent in English and Kurdish.
 
Responsibilities and Key Objectives:
  • Provision of field-based inspection services for routine and ad hoc inspection of plant, vessels, tanks, and pipework in support of Surface Operations including planning for rolling inspections and recording all such inspections in Company systems
  • Supervision of contractors to ensure that they are performing their duties safely and are producing high quality records
  • Carry out all tasks to prioritise safe operations in line with ALARP
  • Participate in selection process for corrosion/inspection management database module of CMMS
  • Capture all inspection data and upload current and historical to CMDS/CMMS
  • Organise plant requirements (such as access, shutdowns, PTW’s, RA’s) for Insp. activity including provision and supervision of contractor staff when necessary
  • Carry out routine, rolling plant inspections based on RBI analysis and modify/update programme based on incoming data
  • Perform ad-hoc plant inspections when required
  • Participate in relevant risk assessments and HAZOPs
  • Use RT/UT/MP/DP etc. as necessary
  • Specify Inspection requirements for, and supervise, contractor NDT staff
  • Prepare reports of inspections, including Interpretation of data for Level III activity
  • Specify and procure equipment required to carry out activities described
  • Mentor a Trainee/Assistant Inspector
  • Become proficient at routine cathodic protection monitoring along pipeline routes
  • Liaise with Operations to allow internal inspection of equipment such as tanks, vessels, exchangers on an “availability” basis with emphasis on periodic planned plant shutdowns by third parties as required
  • Follow Permit to work system, SOP’s, and safety management system that are in place
 
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Degree qualified in a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of relevant tasks in oil and gas production, plant construction, or other specialist inspection activity
  • Proficient in written/spoken English and able to write technical reports in English
  • Understanding of permit to work system, isolation systems and risk assessment
  • Competent with MS Office
  • Effective and supportive team member
  • Qualified to Level II in a minimum of 1 discipline (RT or UT) with willingness to progress to level III
  • Familiar with relevant ASME/API STDS/codes
  • CSWIP 3.1 Weld Inspector
