mselect is looking for a Construction Engineer – Mechanical and Piping for an international oil and gas service client in Erbil. Candidates must have at least 5-8 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Fluency in English is a must.

JOB OBJECTIVE
Responsible for MTO Preparation on site as & when needed, Review of Engineering Documents and drawings, Material Procurement for site material in case needed, coordination with engineering team, Weekly/daily meeting attending, Engineering support and overall supervision for all Mechanical and piping activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitors and assists in field construction co-ordination efforts, co-ordination with contractors, client representative and other internal stake holders as needed, documents and reports field construction activities
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Procurement and Project groups to review the scope of work in terms of deliverables to be submitted to the client, to finalize schedules to be met, and utilize resources required as per contract
  • Preparing the WBS for all Mechanical and piping activities and identifying the quantity of work required on micro level
  • Familiar with interface project work sequence, activities and deliverables during project phase with knowledge and understanding of a contract
  • Reviewing the design drawings and checking the feasibility onsite and then red lining the same with co- ordination and approval from Engineering team in form of Site TQ’s
  • Tracking the work progress/ installation onsite with the help of trackers and updating the same on daily basis with respect to site DPRs
  • Spot routine checks to ensure accurate IFC drawings are being followed by the Site construction contractor
  • Undertake team briefings/meetings to ensure all aspects of work are understood by all concerned parties
  • Inspect the Work as completed to confirm that it was constructed in accordance with the Specifications and performed to the required standard of care
  • Familiar with applicable & relevant International codes & standards
  • Review of Test Packages prior to hydro test activity
  • Fully familiarized with applicable design codes and regulations in oil and gas, water transmission industries like ASME, API
  • Monitoring all the activity related to iso clearance, loop clearance, recording progress of mechanical clearance
  • Sound Knowledge of replacement of pipeline, cold cutting and spillage prevention, Tank welding, Equipment erection
  • Sound knowledge of grit and sand blasting, Primer, final painting
  • Monitoring process of Excavation, sand fill, Back-fill Coating grit and sand blasting, Primer, final painting, HSS
  • Wellhead ties in-to X-mass tree and oil gathering manifold, Monitoring erection process of above ground pipe and final hook up to wellhead
  • Fabrication of pipe and structures, Heat tracing and insulation, hydrotest activity, box up and Reinstatement activity and pigging job
  • Flow line welding, fabrication for well heeds, Oil gathering Manifold, Above ground spools for oil wells, replacement of pipeline
  • Monitors the construction contractor’s production of red lined records and communicates the same with engineering team
  • Identifying the Engineered material storage and raising the top up orders from site
  • Walk down with QA/QC Engineer for Material inspection once received in warehouse by material Team
  • Cold loop check folder monitoring and co-ordinating the same with contractor
  • Upon completion of sub systems/ systems construction participates in punch list process to ensure the installation is in line with the issued IFC drawings and documents
  • Schedules and facilitates meetings with construction contractor to resolve punch list issues. Coordinates solutions to disputed punch list items
  • Skids, equipment, vendor packages assembly guidance and supervision

WORKING RELATIONS

Internal:
  • Internal Disciplinary checking of various documents with Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil/ Structural, Rotary and static Departments

External:
  • Communication with Company Engineering for site Technical queries & resolution
  • Communication with Client representative on site for their Technical Queries, if any & resolution
  • Communication with SC team for material and equipment delivery on time to be the schedule

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Able to handle multi-national work force in multiple projects in multi countries
  • Able to work long hour as per demands of project
  • Proficiency in English is a must
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
  • Review of 3D modelling works for piping and equipment work
  • Review of vendor package and any miss out by engineering identifying
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Rotation
3 month on/ 15 days off
